Dandruff is a common skin disorder but can be very irritant and highly infectious. Ayurveda, being the science of the body, offers a spectrum of solutions that are close to Nature and prepares the body to respond positively to it. This article explains how.

What is dandruff?

Dandruff is a skin disorder that affects the scalp, that causes the skin to dry up and remain as white dry dead scales. It might start as a natural phenomenon, but in no time can scale up to a serious health issue by developing irritant infections. It is normal for the human body to shed dead skin cells, but it becomes a health issue when the rate is too high and the body finds its difficult to clear the dead cells and rejuvenate itself with healthy, new cells.
Usually, high calorie and improper diet and modern living conditions like stress, tension and exertion trigger it. It has also been noticed that prolonged diseases like jaundice could become additional reasons for causing dandruff.
