Dandruff is a common skin disorder but can be very irritant and highly infectious. Ayurveda, being the science of body, offers a spectrum of solutions that are close to Nature and prepares the body to respond positively to it. This article explains how.
What is dandruff?
Dandruff is a skin disorder that affects the scalp, that causes the skin to dry up and remain as white dry dead scales. It might start as a natural phenomenon, but in no time can scale up to a serious health issue by developing irritant infections. It is normal for the human body to shed dead skin cells, but it becomes a health issue when the rate is too high and the body finds its difficult to clear the dead cells and rejuvenate itself with healthy, new cells.
Usually, high calorie and improper diet and modern living conditions like stress, tension and exertion trigger it. It has also been noticed that prolonged diseases like jaundice could become additional reasons for causing dandruff.
Ayurveda offers some simple home-found solutions to counter this ailment.
Add a teaspoon of lime juice in a mug of water. Wash the hair with this solution along with the shampoo.
Apply a solution of lime juice and Amla juice mixed in equal measures and leave it overnight. Wash hair in the morning.
Prepare a mixture of ten grams dark pepper powder, one full lime and one mug milk and apply it on the scalp. Leave it thus for one hour before washing it off.
Applying vegetable oil on the scalp and leaving it for overnight can also bring down dandruff.
Ayurveda has many such tips to counter dandruff, but for severe infections, it is advised to consult a doctor and adhere to a prescribed protocol of treatment. AyurAvani has specially designed treatment for all skin ailments, including dandruff.
